Our Story

Meet LifePoint, a United Methodist Community of faith in the growing area of the Alliance corridor of north Fort Worth.
Our church takes a “grace-based,” inclusive approach to reaching those who like to ask questions, are a bit skeptical of easy answers, and are open to the journey of discovering truth.
We invite you to be our guest this Sunday morning and join us for some:
- Radical hospitality
- Passionate worship
- Intentional faith development
- Risk-taking mission and service
- Extravagant generosity
We believe this 5-fold focus of LifePoint will lead us all into more fruitful living and greater meaning and significance in life.
History:
LifePoint began with just eight people meeting in Pastor Thomas’ home in Sept, 2005. In April, 2006, the church had outgrown that home, which facilitiated the need to move to the “best facility available,” the South Keller Intermediate School. LifePoint grew steadily at SKI school, however our goal was to reach the north Alliance corridor area.
In Dec of 2008, we moved to the Trinity Meadows Intermediate School, where once again we saw steady gains in both the growth and program, general strength and discipleship of our church. However, in July of 2009, new policies instituted by the Keller ISD necessitated yet another move, this time to the Lucas Funeral Home in downtown Keller. Lucas was a very generous host, and we can never be thankful enough for their gracious hospitality.
In Jan 2010 though, through a series of positive events that can be described as nothing less than direct intervention by God on our behalf, we began discussions with the Crossroads United Methodist Church to see what our options might be for combining our congregations to better reach the mission field in the north Alliance area. These discussions resulted in an overwhelming win-win scenario for both congregations, providing the opportunity for the new, combined community of faith to immediately be a stronger presence than any of us had imagined at this stage of our church’s life. These opportunities included long-term land (20 acres) and facilities (15,000+ sq ft), combined with drastically increased leadership and financial strength.
With hundreds attending our “soft launch” on May 2, it was a wonderful success, far surpassing all immediate goals. The Summer of 2010 saw major renovations to the existing building, providing 4000 square feet of additional space for our youth programming, upgrades to our sound, video and worship space, the addition of a chapel and sound booth, and numerous other improvements.
On Aug 29, 2010 the new LifePoint “officially” opened its doors to the community, welcoming hundreds more who were new to our area and congregation. In the Fall, multiple new ministries were launched, our road was paved, we saw the additions of new programs small groups, sports groups, kids, youth, and Scouting ministries, added missions opportunities and more.
In Spring 2011, more synergies have been recognized with another nearby United Methodist community, the Journey of Faith United Methodist Church in Newark, TX. And future improvements include the paving of our parking lot, playground improvements for our kids, increasing small group offerings, and more. It is clear that God is still alive and doing very well in our midst! People’s lives are being transformed and God is being glorified. It will be a joy to see what the next chapter of our story will hold.
