Jessica Newquist – Worship Leader

Jessica, born in Connecticut, has always been passionate about music.

She has shared a stage with Masuk’s competitive chamber choir, toured with The AllSouls, an R&B band, and performed as a solo singer/guitarist in venues all over New England with artists such as Tristan Prettyman and JD Hagstrom.

Jessica has formal training in music theory and performance at Western Connecticut State University, and she enjoys both songwriting and performance.

Jerry Gage - Rhythm Guitar, Backup Vocals

Jerry is a native Texan born in Dallas. Music and ministry are lifelong passions. He has played quitar professionally in the DFW area since the mid 80s.

His call to ministry began in his teens and finally culminated to staff a position at a non-denominational church in Mesquite and eventually to Lifepoint in January 2010.

He continues to play professionally in all genres of music and serve in ministry while he pursues ordination in the UMC.

Jerry is married to Alexandra, his wonderful wife of 9 years.

Frank Jones – Lead Guitar

Music and Worship have always been Frank’s greatest passions.

Frank grew up just outside of Houston, TX, and began playing acoustic and lead guitar, bass and drums at an early age. Frank enjoys all styles of worship, and has been involved in various aspects of worship leadership in both Crossroads UMC and the First Keller UMC, as well as previous leadership roles in other churches.

Frank is married to Dominica Jones and they have 2 children.

 

Scot Knight – Bass

Scot’s professional background has taken him as far as Rio DeJanero, Brasil and given him the opportunity to record and play behind artist and legends such as Rev. James Cleveland, Grammy recipient Jennifer Holiday, Stephanie Mills, Mavis Staples, Cissy Houston, Vickie Winans, Patti Austin, Erykka Badou, Lola Folana, Della Reese, Peabo Bryson, Chaka Kahn, Charlie Pride and many others.

 

Brent Nance – Drums / Percussion

From 1976 to 1983, Brent was the Percussionist with Out Of The Blue, touring Japan, Singapore and the U.S.

From 1983-1986, he worked with Janette Brantly (Jazz), Richard Thomas & Sesame Street (Fusion), & Ceotis State Jackson (Gospel).

In 1986, Brent was the drummer for the Bill Tillman Band, to be followed by a gig with the Jus’ Blues/Lucky Peterson Band until 1997 (including recordings with the French National Orchestra de Jazz, Gregg Smith, Trudy Lynn and Bobby Paterson.

From 1997-present, Brent has worked as producer for local gospel groups Vincent Hollands & the Sounds of Joy, Rev. James E Smith, L J Gipson, as a precussionist for Anita Martinez Ballet Folklorico, Dallas Black Dance, and Percussion Things.

He has also worked as Drummer/percussionist and musical Director for Dianne Tucker’s Hershys with Almonds, and recording artists such as Yarbrough & Peoples, Benita Attiberry and Linny Nance & Network.

He is currently working as the drummer for Dallas based R&B Funk band Professor D & the Playschool (previously voted Dallas Observer’s Best R&B Funk Band).

Thomas Childs – Keyboard

Thomas has toured with the Christian band TRUTH, as well as playing in the New Orleans Symphony, the New Orleans Saints Jazz Band, the Desire Brothers band, the Harmon Lights jazz band, and others.

Additionally, Thomas was the first chair trumpet player in the state of Alabama All-State competition, first chair in the Southern United States Honor Band, and the Outstanding Music Major for Loyola Univ in 1993.
